Testosterone levels are measured using blood tests, but the "normal" range is based on a wide age group, from 18 to 80 years old. This creates a broad scale of 250-1100, even though a 20-year-old and a 70-year-old shouldn’t have the same testosterone levels and still be considered normal. Testosterone naturally starts to decline around age 30, but research shows it doesn’t have to drop drastically with age. If a man has symptoms of Low T but his levels are on the lower end of normal, treatment may still be beneficial.
Each person’s response to testosterone therapy varies depending on factors like overall health, medications, body fat percentage, and the severity of their deficiency. Some men feel a difference after the first injection, but most notice improvements within four to six weeks. The effects start gradually and increase over time. If there’s little to no improvement after a few weeks, we can run lab tests, adjust the dosage, or consider other treatment options.
If you prefer to avoid injections, there are other testosterone therapy options available, including creams. We can discuss the best alternative based on your needs and lifestyle.
